Getting Started
Page Layout
When you open the Compose Message page, you see a split-screen layout:
| Area | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Left side | Expandable accordion panels — your form (channel, contacts, template) |
| Right side | A live message preview showing how your message will look |
2. Capture the full page showing both panels on the left and the template preview card on the right

Channel Selection
Before setting up contacts, select the messaging channel for your broadcast. Three channel buttons appear as colored pills at the top:
| Channel | Button color | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Send WhatsApp template messages to phone number-based contacts | |
| Messenger | Blue | Send text or structured messages to contacts on your connected Facebook pages |
| Pink/purple | Send text or structured messages to contacts on your connected Instagram accounts |
Click a channel button to select it. The channel you select determines:
- Which contacts appear in Panel 1
- Which message options appear in Panel 2 (WhatsApp uses templates; Messenger/Instagram use text or structured messages)
- Which recipient methods are available (CSV and Direct Numbers are WhatsApp-only)
Changing the channel resets everything — your contact selection, template/message configuration, and preview are all cleared. Select your channel first before filling in other panels.
Panel 1: Contact Setup (Blue)
This is where you choose who will receive your message. The panel has a blue left border and a contacts icon.
The available recipient methods depend on the selected channel:
WhatsApp — Three methods
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Select Recipients | Pick individual contacts or use filters (group, location, custom fields) |
| Import CSV | Upload a CSV file with phone numbers and names |
| Direct Numbers | Type phone numbers directly into a text area |
Messenger / Instagram — One method
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Select Recipients | Pick individual contacts or use filters. If you have multiple pages, a page selector appears first — choose which Facebook Page or Instagram account to send from |
Import CSV and Direct Numbers are only available for WhatsApp broadcasts. Messenger and Instagram contacts must be selected from your existing contact list.
2. Show the Recipient Type dropdown with the three options visible
3. Capture the entire panel with the dropdown open

This is where you choose what to send. The panel has a purple left border and a document icon. The content of this panel changes depending on the selected channel.
WhatsApp — Template & Parameters
- Select an approved WhatsApp template
- Fill in any variable values (like customer name, order number)
- Upload media if the template requires it
- Configure button details if needed
- Configure Flow data exchange (if the template uses a WhatsApp Flow)
Messenger / Instagram — Message Composition
Choose between two message types:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Text Message | A plain text message (up to 2,000 characters) with an optional media attachment (image, video, audio, or document) |
| Structured Message | An interactive message — either a Button Template (text with up to 3 action buttons) or a Generic Template (up to 10 cards with images, titles, subtitles, and buttons) |
2. Select a template that has body parameters
3. Capture the panel showing the template selector and parameter fields

Each panel shows a status icon in its header:
| Icon | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green checkmark | This step is complete and ready |
| Orange warning | This step needs attention — something is missing |
Both panels must show a green checkmark before you can send your message.
Mobile View
On smaller screens, the form and preview don't fit side by side. Use the toggle button in the top-right corner to switch between:
- Form view (edit icon) — Fill in your details
- Preview view (eye icon) — See how the message will look
A floating Send button also appears at the bottom right on mobile for quick access.
2. Capture the header showing the toggle button (eye/edit icon)
3. Also capture the floating send button at bottom right
